The England vs. Pakistan match is seeing some excellent action today. The final test match of the NPower series Pakisatn tour of England saw Mohammad Asif rescue Pakistan by taking the wicket of Andrew Strauss.
After a dismal bowling performance by Mohammad Amir, Asif’s bowling wonder proved as a boon to Pakistan. However owing to bad light and consistent rain at the Lord’s, the match was played only for 12.3 overs.
Strauss’s batting had been poor throughout the England vs. Pakistan series and the 4th test at Lord’s wasn’t any different. But credit should go to Mohammad Asif whose bowling was good enough to take Strauss’s wicket. The ball went off outside and returned back to him hitting in the middle. There wasn’t anything that Strauss could do to save himself from Asif’s onslaught.
Earlier as Salman butt had chosen to field first, the game saw many slips by the Pakistani players on filed. This included Alastair Cook being dropped by Umar Akmal. Mohammad Amir could have made up for his opening over that saw Pakistan give away 5 wides by taking Cook. However Asif scored better today at the Lord’s in the final test match between England and Pakistan today.
The teams on both the sides were the same as one that played at The Oval. Umar Gul ‘s position was still taken by Wahab Riaz owing to Gul’s hamstring injury. The rains and the troubling floodlights meant that the final test match at Lord’s had to be halted.
The current score is England 39 for 1 (Cook 10*, Trott 8*). Keep looking at this space for more updates on the Pakisatn tour of England, NPower Ashes test series.
