There is a cricket series going on between the two most young and promising teams of the world. England Vs Pakistan are staring eye to eye to each other. In the first test match England is looking in much more comfortable position so far.
At the beginning of eng Vs Pak encounter English squad batted first. Against seriously devastating pace of Pakistani bowling line up somehow British line up managed to give their bowlers something to bowl at Pakistani batsmen in the shape of 354 all out.
During the first inning of England Pakistani bowlers showed that why Pakistan is considered to be the best producers of world class bowlers. Pakistani bowlers Mohammed Aamer and Mohammed Asif bowled with devastatingly precarious pace and shattered the British line up. Mohammed Amer took 3 wickets at the cost of 41 runs in his 24 overs whereas Mohammed Asif gulped 5 wickets just at the cost of 77 runs in his 24 overs.
Both of them have shown that although there are no Wasim Akram, Aqib Javed, and Waqar Younus in their team yet they are all set to fill their shoes perfectly. so no side in the world can afford to relax against them take them lightly.
But after bundling England out at 354 Pakistani batting line up mopped the perseverance of Pakistani bowlers by getting all out at paltry 182 runs. For this condition of Pakistan if someone is responsible so it is British bowler James Anderson who celebrated his 28th birthday by cutting the cake of 5 Pakistani wickets. James Anderson came like bolt in the blue for Pakistan and blew off their entire batting line up like some windstorm. No Pakistani batsmen could cope with his line length, swing and destructively devastating pace. Due to his world standard bowling Pakistan was struggling at 47/6 at one stage in the first innings.
But special credit goes to Shoib Malik 38, Mohammed Aamer 25 and tail ender Umar Gul 65 that helped Pakistan from facing humiliation of follow on. At one stage a question had occurred that whether Pakistan will be able to deny follow on or not.
But thanks to Umar Gul for his fighting innings of 65 runs under such critical circumstances.
For England In the first inning Paul Collingwood and Eoin Morgan shined with bat. Collingwood scored 82 runs and Morgan slammed a ton and scored 130 runs. So far as Pakistan team is concerned so their batting line up was dismal in terms of scoring runs. Everyone got starts but no one could convert it into big ones. Umar Gul is the only one who scored alone half century for Pakistan and carried the bat.
Now Pakistan had given the opposition a monumental lead of 182 runs. Now England was in the driver’s seat and they could play it the way they wanted. But Pakistani pace battery once decided to play havoc with English batting line up. That is what exactly they did once again and in the second innings England was tottering at one stage at 99/6.
Now it seemed as if Pakistan is hell bent of destroying the English line up once again. The way Pakistani pace battery was bowling so far it was looking that as if Pakistan is trying to come back into this test match make a fight here. But once again as we all know Pakistan is a mercurial team so anything is possible with them any time. So once again England took advantage of it and recovered from this situation.
After being restricted to paltry 99/6 England came back strongly into the game through Mat Prior who scored a syndicating ton and made 102 runs. This ton came from Prior’s bat just at the nick of time. He not only saved England’s skin but also helped England put up a competitive total of 262 /9 on the board. After making 262 runs on the board England declared their second innings and invited Pakistan to bat.
Now as we all know that England had already been given a huge lead of 182 runs so with the help of this lead England has managed to set a skyscraper of 434 runs in order to register a historical win here at Trent Bridge.
But when Pakistan came to climb the Everest of 434 runs in their second innings for securing a win here at Trent Bridge once again Swing, pace and line and length of James Anderson turned out to be impossible for them to play against. This time Anderson made mockery of Pakistani batting line up in the company of Stuart Broad who is not second to anybody in terms of pace, swing, line and length and aggression.
So far Pakistan has lost their 3 top pillars just with 15 runs on the board. In Pakistan’s second innings English Bowler Stuart Broad has taken 2 wickets of skipper Salman Butt and Azhar Ali whereas James Anderson has once again added to the woes of Pakistani Batting line up by claiming 1 wicket of Umar Amin.
Pakistan is now tottering at 15/3 and Pakistan still need 419 runs to register a historical win at Trent Bridge in this Eng Vs Pak 1st test match. But I think from this situation Pakistan should play for a draw instead of wining this England vs. Pakistan test match.
