India and Sri Lanka are facing each other in a rehearsal match ahead of the final at the Asia Cup. Whoever the winner is shall enter the final showdown with a better edge and confidence.

India shall be looking for an opportunity to compensate for the tri-series tour debacle where it was surprisingly knocked out by a super fit Zimbabwe. The Indians would be more than happy to revive the lost chance to meet the island team in the title clash. “This is an important game for us.

We don’t take any game lightly. Obviously, if we win the match, we can go to the final with a better frame of mind”, points out Harbhajan Singh, who did an outstanding job against Pakistan in taking India to the final.

Sri Lanka meanwhile has shown awesome form both against Pakistan and Bangladesh.

India boast of a terrific batting lineup including Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and captain Dhoni himself.

After promising performances at the tri-series, Sharma and Kohli are looking forward to prove their worth in the Asia Cup. However, Virender Sehwag shall be missing from the team due to a hamstring injury.

Dinesh karthik is supposed to replace Sehwag and shall open the innings along with Gambhir. Upul Tharanga and Dilshan shall lead the Lankan batting order. Lasith Malinga may be given rest while allrounder Farveez Maharoof would be given a chance. Suraj Randiv might replace Muttiah Muralitharan in the rehearsal game ahead of the final encounter.
