Ind vs Aus
India faces Australia for the final day of the first test match in Mohali. The fourth day left India at 55/4 with a great responsibility on the shoulders of their class player Sachin Tendulkar to take the home team sailing towards a victory. But it will be tough for India as the pitch is rough and ball has started turning and Australians will make good use of their pacers. Zaheer Khan (5) is batting along with Sachin Tendulkar (10).
The Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has a word with Nathan Hauritz who was given the first over for the day. Hauritz bowled an excellent maiden over.
Hilfenhaus and Hauritz bowl the next 10 overs between them with Tendulkar managing a couple of boundaries. Hauritz bowled a straight delivery to Khan which clipped the edge of his bat and went to the first slip to be caught by Clarke. India stood at 77/5 at the end of the 24th over.
VVS Laxman stepped in for Khan. Tnedulkar drove Hilenfaus to a boundary towards empty stands. The original and holy form of cricket is probably finding few takers these days or maybe the scorching heat is the real culprit for driving away the spectators. India stood at 83/5 at the end of the 25th over.
Hauritz came in to ball and conceded three easy boundaries to the duo. India stood at 97/5 at the end of the 26th over.
Ponting calls in Doug Bollinger when India has scored a perfect century at the end of the 27th over. Hilenfaus and Bollinger concede an occasional run here and there.
This is when Bollinger strikes and has Sachin Tendulkar caught to Hussey in the left of gully. This is a big moment for Australia for now everything rests on the form of Laxman and the Indian skipper M.S. Dhoni. India stood at 119/6 at the end of the 30th over.
Dhoni steps in for Tendulkar only to join him soon afterwards when he is run out maybe because of the confusion of the runner to Laxman, Suresh Raina. Dhoni (2) left in the 34th over. But more action was soon to follow in the same over. Harbhajan came and went soon afterwards in a short delivery by Bollinger and was caught by Ponting. India stood at 124/8 at the end of the 34th over.
Johnson is called in for the 37th over. Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma has steeped in for Singh. Hauritz and Johnson concede a couple of boundaries between them leaving India at 151/8 at the end of the 40th over.
India stand at 162/8 and the play will continue after the lunch. Laxman is playing at 48 and Sharma at 14. It is yet to be seen if Laxman yet again proves his worth today and saves India from a humiliating defeat.
