CL T20 [Champions League Twenty20] : Unprecedented security on the cards in the wake of match fixing scandal

The Champions League Twenty20 is all set to begin in South Africa and the tournament shall see unprecedented security and anti corruption activities in the aftermath of the latest spot fixing scandal that shook the cricket world. The News of the World sting operation showed three Pakistani players allegedly involved in match fixing leading to their suspension by the ICC.
The $6.5m Champions League extravaganza shall commence from September 10 to 26 and the ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Securities Unit, along with the organizers shall keep a watchful eye on the activities of the players and teams. Apart from them, South African firm Nicholls, Steyn & Associates has been assigned the duty of the security measures. Every game will have four security agents present and three to four security persons will be associated with each team and hotels.
Dean Kino, member of the CLT20 governing council has said that any such case that causes the violation of the CLT20′s code of conduct will be dealt with as in the ICC’s anti-corruption code. Sir Paul Condon of the ACSU had earlier remarked that T20 form of cricket has been a challenge to the integrity of cricket. The IPL parties in India were also accused of providing easy access to undesirable people who influence the players in corrupting the game. However, former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan said that several players had admitted of being persuaded by some people to make good money.
