The captain of the Australian cricket team Ricky Ponting has declared that the Australian cricket team can very well defeat England the Ashes with 5-0 this season. Ponting may not be on the same line as Mcgrath who had also committed to something similar 4 years ago- which was accomplished but Ponting does believe that the Australian Team has greatly learnt from its faults and believes that the team can mould out results accordingly.

The Australian lost at the hands of England team on a score of 2-1.But following this the team has really worked hard and is performing significantly well, but there latest draw with Pakistani team has further raised some doubts about there caliber. The team hopes that during the first test match that would be played in Gabba, Peter Siddle would be back after sustaining injuries joining along Brad Haddin the no.1 wicket keeper and also Nathan Hauritz one of the best off spinner.

The team captain also exchanged a word with cricket officials of Australia telling them that there is a high possibility of the Australian team standing victorious with 5-0 tat the Ashes test matches. Ponting also reportedly said that emerging victorious with such stats was a matter of there own efforts; they could very well achieve 5-0 if they played well taking charge of the situation.
