There is no superior formula than do-or-die when it comes to the trade end of the Indian Premier League. Every match is a must-succeed encounter and yet, no one can be definite of the semifinal till the last match is positioned. It is the similar when Daredevils play Super Kings at the Chepauk Today on Thursday.

Both teams Daredevils and Super Kings have won 6 games each, both teams have a good net run-rate, and both teams will have to play a shoot-out yet again in their previous match if they lost it.

But one thing is definite that Super Kings are a touch more stress-free than Delhi Daredevils, especially after their triumph against KKR in their previous match. The Delhi side is trying to come to terms with 3 losses one after other and the stress was obvious on the eve of their crisis match.

After a pitiless defeat against Mumbai, here they arrived at yesterday morning and took the day off, with most of the players desiring to reside indoors. Hints approaching from the Daredevils camp recommended that Coach Greg Shipperd might just play Nannes in this critical game but he is not completely fit. The Daredevils management knows how critical it is to strike early against Super Kings, if they are to stand any opportunity against an opposition which has found its feet after a few crooked outings here and there. If Dirk Nannes plays, Andrew McDonald will possibly sit out.

Delhi Daredevils also have the choice of taking an opportunity and playing Dilshan in place of AB de Villiers. Given the fact that Tillakaratne Dilshan can be a handy spinner as well which does have something in it for spinners. His enclosure may just give dividends on a Chepauk path.

Chennai Super Kings are still relaxing in the brilliance of a brilliant triumph against Knight Riders, but MS Dhoni‘s boys realize that if Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir get going early on, things will run away very quick. The hero of Chennai’s triumph against Knight Riders, Ashwin, made it very apparent that “bowling to Viru and Gauti will be one of his biggest challenges in the IPL“.

R. Ashwin said “It is not certain whether I will again open the bowling against DD. But if I do, it will really be a challenging ask, because these guys will come hard at me. They have one of the best batting line-ups and in a match like this, they’ll be all the more eager to fire. And with Viru there, anything can happen”.
