New Zealand vs Pakistan
New Zealand takes on Pakistan in their second match in the Super Eights, and both the teams are vying for a necessary win to survive in the ICC T20 world cup. Placed at the bottom in the ‘E’ group, they had faced defeat against South Africa and England respectively in their last match.
New Zealand and Pakistan both are confronted with batting inadequacies as evident from their previous matches. A reliable batting order seems to evade necessitating too much pressure on few players. The defending champions, criticized for their outstanding inconsistency has also been in news for indiscipline of some star players. They had outplayed just one team so far – Bangladesh. Their run scorers were not up to the mark with the exception of maybe Salman Butt and Umar Akmal. Even the promising bowlers who were expected to have a dream run seem to be out of form. Fielding errors are also a cause of concern.
New Zealand on the other hand had been confronted with narrow victories and their bowling had failed to take off in crucial overs. Poor form of players like Pace spearhead, Shane Bond and Brendon McCullum is worrying the Kiwi team a lot.
In short, the New Zealand vs Pakistan encounter is expected to be a test of capacities and caliber for both the teams.
